Some unfortunate news from Fabulous Films, the UK distributor of Monkey: "VDC our replication plant burnt to the ground last week so virtually all the masters have been destroyed for all our titles. Also all artwork has gone. There may be a long wait for stuff very soon when our existing stock has been sold. If people were thinking about buying them then this is the time. There may be huge dealys in the near future. The same applies to most of the big labels like Contender, Network and many others." Interesting news for those of you getting the new Sony PSP in September: "We are releasing 3 eps of Monkey and 3 eps of Water Margin on Sony PSP UMD for its launch on Sept 1st." Also, Prism, the low-cost DVD label that releases DVDs for sale in petrol stations in the UK, and possibly shops such as Poundstretcher (I think!?!) will be releasing a single Monkey DVD and Water Margin DVD next year: "These same 3 eps will be released by Prism in Feb 2006 as a £5.99 DVD as will 3 Water Margin Eps" The 3 episodes to be released in these formats were chosen by me a few months ago in discussion with Fabulous Films - they will be: 1. Monkey Goes Wild about Heaven 6. Even Monsters Can be People 25. The Country of Nightmares Hope you like my selection - I chose these as I thought they'd be a good intro to the series for people who haven't seen it before, or haven't seen it for a long time - hopefully they'll whet their appetite and they'll go out and buy the regular UK Monkey DVD releases with the episodes in order. The program name is "Densha-Otoko - A Train love story",means a Train-Man. An animation-and-Comic-geek boy, Otaku, meets a beautiful lady ocasionaly in a "Train". It is a true love story originated from just a monologue thread written on the largest BBS , 2-channel, in Japan at first. The thread was consist of his post and nitizen's responses day by day . The name came from his handle-name. As soon as the thread finished , someone called a insider ( of BBS system) made a log-crchive site for it. It attracted people's big attention. As the result , it become a book, a movie and theatre play. Of course this is TV drama's turn! Shiro Kishibe's role name is Kousei Yamada as Train-Man's father. I am happy if you all treat me with gentle patience recognizing Kishibe is on TV ." [Q&A] Q:What is your impression about the studio? Shiro Kishibe: It's too small studio setting for me. I was surprised that they live them such a small house. Of course , I understand the limited budget (LOL). Or someone may steel our budget(LOL). Well,my impression is like this. But I think it can give good atomosphere for Yamada family. - --- I have also received lots of photos of him in his new acting role - I will add these to my website sometime soon hopefully.
