Howell,

A belated thanks to you and others re Monkey DVD's.
I was just looking at your site (http://www.monkeyheaven.com/), and noticed 
the nice big Kanji on the front page, and it occured to me that while many 
westerners might know that the Japanese name of the series is Saiyuuki, they 
might not know the meaning.

The first Kanji of the three is SAI - this means West, and can be found in 
the region name Kansai.

The middle Kanji is YUU - which can mean either play or travel.  In Monkey's 
case I guess it's a bit of both ;)

The last Kanji is KI - this means record or chronicle.

So I make the directly translated title "Chronicle of Travels West" - not 
quite as catchy as "Monkey", but anyway....
