Hi all, I've been a lurker for a some time on this great list, I spose that I'm just one of the quiet fans, been watching it since a small child. So finally I've ordered the full set of monkey DVD's from Bensons based upon the Price of £8.99 they were offering and the post from a week or so ago on this list. That was on Tuesday the 6th Jan 2004 13.34, I phoned up later on in the week to confirm that things were progressing and the lady told me that I should expect delivery on Monday as it was going to be dispatched on Friday. So starts the debacle. I receive an Order dispatch confirmation 20.34 on Friday 9th Jan. Ok I thought great I should get them on Monday. Monday arrives and nothing so I phone up speak to a lady who says that she has to check with the carrier company and that she will get back to me ... guess what I don't get a call. I call up again next day (Tuesday) and speak to a man ( name I think was Kevin) who the tells me THAT THERE HAS BEEN A DELAY AND THE STOCK HAS NOT BEEN SENT OUT (contrary to the EMAIL). BTW CARD HAS BEEN CHARGED, conversation starts:- ME:" WHAT !!!??" "WELL WHEN IS IT GETTING TO ME???" Kevin:"WELL IT WILL BE SENT OUT WEDNESDAY FOR ARRIVAL ON THURSAY", ITS THURSDAY AT 11.41AM AND STILL HAS NOT TURNED UP. I spoke to Kevin again who said that the package had been sent with city link and that I should get it either today or tomorrow. Not too sure if I can believe that given the past performance. So to my point, My Life is the internet! Hey I work for Cisco for those in the know and I do just about everything online, I'm extremely disappointed in the way that the order been handled, its nigh on £120 order!!! The people that I've spoken to don't give the impression that they know fully whats going on with the orders. Its not the fact that the order was delayed, as things can and do go wrong with ordering, the thing that defines a great company is how they go about fixing the screw-up. I've ordered hundreds of pounds worth of gear from Amazon over the last several years and guess what .. .not one screw up apart from a slightly late delivery once. Bensons: I want to support the smaller companies, CD wow was just one of those companies and their customer service is just fantastic. So why can't yours be. Maybe I'm the exception but this has been a pain in the A*SE and I will be thinking twice before ordering next time. So your current options would be to either 1) buy the DVDs from Australia or the UK: http://www.monkeyheaven.com/allvideos.html (assuming you have a multi-region DVD player - although it's rumoured the Australian Monkey DVDs are region-free - and a TV that can play PAL signals as well as the usual US NTSC) 2) Buy the videos from the UK: http://www.monkeyheaven.com/videos.html and get them converted from PAL to NTSC (cheaply at somewhere like http://www.videoconversion.com/) There's a possibility that Monkey _may_ be released on DVD in the USA sometime later this year, but there's no concrete news about this as yet. (they were in the UK) About the redubbing of the 13 unseen Monkey episodes - here's the latest: It began just before Christmas (some info from Fabulous Films - "VERY WELL THANKS, PIGSY IS A BIT OLD NOW AND A BRUMMIE!!" - for those outside the UK, this means he's from Birmingham) The interviews with the dubbing cast members went very well - they've interviewed: David Collings Maria Wahlberg Peter Woodthorpe Andrew Sachs Miriam Margolyes Hopefully, I should be getting some photos of them soon for my site, taken from the video footage that was shot. Other news: "The dubbing is on hold slightly whilst George Roubicek finishes a job. We expect to resume mid Feb".
