Here's some information I received from another Japanese friend on Tuesday (4 March '03): "TV says - Last night, Toshiyuki Nishida got acute myocardial infarction (i.e. heart attack) and went to hospital urgently. The infarct was removed by an catheter and fortunately, no sequelas are found. Nishida got ill last night and brought to hospital in a neighbour's car. He's still in ICU but he's conscious, alright. He'll start rehabilitation right away. Recently, he's been very busy rehearsing for the stage called "Chibusa" which starts from March 16. It's told that they found someone to fill the breach. TV shows keep reporting about the condition of Toshiyuki Nishida. They say he's been very busy, a bit overweight, smoking heavily, and that led up to the disease." Think of all the times he made you smile as Pigsy in season 1 of Monkey.
