(lists the artists that did the cartoon) Printed in the People's Republic of China - First Edition 1979 On the back inside cover there is a load of what I think is Chinese writing and the numbers 88-E-157 - there's nothing printed on the spine at all 2) Monkey and the White Bone Demon (hardback book) Sub-title: A lively tale of the fabulous Monkey one of China's best-loved mythical characters Adapted by Zhang Xiu Shi from the novel, The Pilgrimage to the West, by Wu Chen En Translated by Ye Ping Kuei and revised by Jill Morris - Kestrel Books - The Viking Press - Published in association with Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House, China ISBN 0 7226 5928 8 - first published 1984 - printed and bound in Singapore by Tien Wah Press - another ISBN (?) 0-670-48574-8 3) Dear Monkey Translated from the Chinese by Arthur Waley - Abridge by Alison Waley - First published 1973 by Blackie & Son Ltd. First published in Lions 1975 by William Collins and Sons At the bottom of the spine, it says C997. Plus, the guy who sent me this info has "Havoc In Heaven" (the Chinese animated film) on PAL video. Here's what he says about it: "The video is in Chinese but with an old English man telling the story over the top - he sounds like the geeza that did the Clangers but it aint him just a similar vibe. The style of the film is kinda like an old skool Disney but Eastern you know? The story kicks off with Monkey being born on a mountain top and goes into the early part of the story where he starts thinking he's as good as heaven and causing all sorts of trouble and ends before he sets off on his quest." At the time, he want to be kind of music critic so he went to see rock concerts. When his brother asked him to come back japan, he didn't know the reason at all. As soon as he came back, he was taken to get his hair cut, at the time he had long long hair like hippy. His new hair style was still long but neat. Then he was taking to recording studio, and the management office made him sing something. After Toppo(katumi) quite the tigers, the management office thought to add replacement member, they would have an audition. But unless very good guy was found in that audition, the management office prefer to choose shiro as replaced member. So that audition was nearly fake. The 2nd phase of the tigers with shiro was not only melodious, but also rock. They covered hard rock like Grand Funk Railroad . Shiro married twice, but divorced once, I think. I saw the new year's TV show , it was first time for me he played ping pong. Now you know he is not ping pong champion, anyway he likes it. Occasionally he appears as guest or commentator on variety show or talk show on TV. But he doesn't have regular program now. Recently he issued his autobiography book." - -- Then in the follow-up email: - -- "Here is some correct information from Shiro's autobiography. He is youngest brother of 6 children. He was a member of ping pong club at junior high school, but he quit it. After tigers succeeded , he went to Tokyo and became bandboy (roadie, assistant of the band). He fell in love with half japanese half american girl. She went to USA to study. it was another reason why he went to USA. He got married in '71, in '72 his son was born. He has 2 children with first wife. Around '85 he devorced, then he appeared as host of look look konnichiwa. in '91 he fell in love and married with Saori. He hasn't divorced her. They still live together." - -- Howell _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com - --------------------------------------------------------------------- + List guidelines: http://www.monkeyheaven.com/guidelines.html + List archives: http://archive.monkeyheaven.com/ User name: greatsage Password: masaaki + To unsubscribe, send an email to: majordomo@valinor.eldar.org with 'unsubscribe monkey' in the body of your message + Need help? When 1960's in Japan, young girls (My mother was too) were absorbed in G.S-groups and then many G.S-groups were born(over 20 bands). Their song style was just mods(you written),the style was resemble for "The Zombies" than "The Beatles". Because (so I talk about music culture) like "The Zombies" mellow melody was sounds pleasant for Japanese people then. One of G.S-group was copied The Zombies song "I love you" on Japanese. - ------------------------------------ Nishida-san received the "Gold-prize" on Nihon Record Popular Award(1981) - ------------------------------------ His big hit song "Moshimo PianoGa Hiketanara (If I Could Play Piano)" was received the "Gold-prize" on Nihon Record Popular Award. It is not same about Sasai-san's prize. Sakai-san's prize is best-1. Nishida-san's song was one of nominated song, for choose best-1. Always inspect people pick up 10 songs and decide best-1 song from them. You can get some information in this URL. http://homepage1.nifty.com/shikado/kayo/regold1.htm So relate this information, you can find a name "Godiego" on that URL. (written Japanese Katakana.) They received the "Gold-prize" too,in 1979. The song is not "Monkey" the received song name is "Beautiful Name". "Beautiful Name" is popular song as same as "Monkey Magic" "Gandara". In Japan, their song "The Galaxy Express 999" is so famous. That was Japanese Animation "The Galaxy Express 999" theme-song. http://www.shogakukan.co.jp/ginga999/index.html http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/movie/999/index.html - ------------------------------------ Natsume-san's husband is famous novel-writer - ------------------------------------ Her husband(when before she gone) "Izyuuin Shizuka" is famous novel-writer.
