For all of you who remember the original series then buying this is a must. To my delight uses the original English dubbing-the voices of Monkey and Sandy crack me up! Anyone old and wise in these episodes is obviously overdubbed by the same actor who plays slaati blaartvast in the BBC's hitchiker guide to the galaxy! Hilarious. Monkey is good all round entertainment, combining comedy, kung fu action, farce and of course the infinate wisdom of Buddha! Beats the hell out of any series today in my book. Only critisism is the "retro trendy" vid packaging, but thats just personal taste. If you havent guessed already the sutra is real, and has a different name which I cant remember for Buddhists, and they just used it for monkey. I got an email yesterday from Monkey fan John O'Laughlin who's written a game based on Monkey. Here's how he describes it: - --- i've almost finished making a game based on monkey. i just need to finish making the last level and then a victory screen, and it'll be finished.
