Here's the blurb about it from my "Monkey Related TV / Films - Remakes" page (http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/related_remakes.html): "New Monkey" (NTV, Japan, 1994) "New Monkey" was made by the same TV company as "Monkey" (NTV). "Monkey" is the most popular TV show that NTV ever made, so to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the channel, they made a new 1990s series of Monkey, a remake of the original series. It featured the newest special effects and computer graphics, and included a completely new cast. It only ran for 1 season, and was unpopular (I guess it couldn't beat the original series!). I'd love to see this!!! I just read on this web site: http://www.rpgamer.com/news/082299c.html that there's a new Saiyuki RPG game which was due out in Japan in autumn 1999. The story of Saiyuki follows the story of Sanzo-hoshi, a priest who received a mission from the Goddess of Mercy. Sanzo's mission was to head to Tenjiku (India). Through her adventures she'll run across some weird characters including a monkey-like character, Songoku, a pig-like guy named Cho Hakkai and Sagojo, a traveler. Together, they'll team up to travel to their common destination, Tenjiku. Saiyuki will be dual-shock compatible and uses the Pocket Station. The game will be released in Japan fall 1999. I have called the ABC, it was a last minute decision to put on the Sampras tennis game. But don't worry, Recovery has simply been moved forward a week. There are still 4 episodes of Recovery (and more importantly, Monkey) that will be aired. This Saturday they will simply air the episode that was meant to be aired last week.
