[monkey] Monkey CD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 03 Mar 2000 08:36:15 GMT From: "Howell Parry" Subject: [monkey] "Songoku" song (Masaaki Sakai) I watched episode 34 of Monkey last night ("Keep On Dancing"), and fairly near the start, when the man goes outside to wait for the pilgrims to arrive, there's a cool song by Masaaki Sakai (I'd know his voice anywhere!), and I spotted the words "Songoku" in it. On my Masaaki Sakai tribute page (http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/masaaki.html), I've got this information: "Masaaki Sakai released a single "SONGOKU" composed by Yoko & Takekawa. This song was sung in Japanese and used in SAIYUKI 2 (the second season of Monkey)." Could someone tell me - who is "Yoko"? Also, is this song available on any CDs in Japan? I'd love to buy it! Someone contacted me recently to tell me about some porcelain figures he's made of Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka (not the generic versions, but actually modelled on Masaaki, Toshiyuki, Shiro and Masako!) Here's some snippets from his emails "I've won a couple of design contests in the past, so my figures are good quality (There is a picture of my Monkey Magic figure in Tomarts action figure digest no.71,I got an honorable mention this time, cant win em all. Maybe I'll win this years contest with the origional Monkey cast)" "Are you in the U.k.(I know there are loads of Monkey fans in Australia)If you are, do you ever go to the memerobilia shows. I sometimes share a table with Twisted Toys. I wont be at Birmingham next week, but I am aiming to get to sandown park for the next show(That way you can veiw my figures properly before you commit to buying them) They are cast in porcelain, but they're pretty durable, they each have 8 points of articulation and come with the appropriate accesories(wishing staff Flying cloud ect) I dont have the horse yet,but I hope to do both versions eventually and a few demons for Monkey to fight" Well, he's sent me photos of his figures, and here they are: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/figures_monkey.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/figures_trip_pig_sand.jpg I think they're wonderful!!!
