It's performed by Mickie Yoshino with the spirit of Godiego. Steve & Mickie are the original members of Godiego. You'll find it on this CD: Artist: MICKEY YOSHINO with THE SPIRIT OF GODIEGO Title: IN THE BOOK OF HEAVEN Cat. no.: COLUMBIA COCA-12236 2) Don't want to say I love you http://homepage.mac.com/monkeymusic/iloveu.mp3 Pigsy's love song "Don't Want to Say I Love You". It's the song of secret love of Pigsy for his master (A Fool! is his main theme. This song was written when Godiego were making the Magic Monkey album. It wasn't included on Magic Monkey because of the TV series concept - - Pigsy's master Tripitaka is not a woman! It was included on Yukihide Takekawa's (an ex-member of Godiego) album "Lyena". No, they're in their original Japanese form, and are neither subtitled or dubbed for English audiences. Page 1 features a photo of Stephen Chow playing Monkey in the Hong Kong movie "A Chinese Odyssey 2" (based on Journey to the West): http://www.heroic-cinema.com/articles/wuxia.htm Page 2 http://www.heroic-cinema.com/articles/wuxia_classics.htm ...discusses three pieces of classic Chinese Literature which have been an inspiration for these movies: Romance of Three Kingdoms, Outlaws of the Marsh and Journey to the West. "Outlaws of the Marsh" was the basis for "The Water Margin" TV show. "Journey to the West" was the basis for "Monkey". There's a story outline of 'Journey to the West', plus there's a paragraph about "Monkey" which mentions my web site and the forthcoming UK video release in April :) Here's what it says about Monkey: "The Japanese TV version starring Masaaki Sakai as Monkey does quite a decent job of telling parts of the story though adding unique elements of Japanese comedy and Chanbarra action. There is a fantastic site dedicated to this series (of related interest, Fabulous Films in the UK are releasing the whole series on PAL VHS video from April 2000)." Hey! I'm back from cloud-flying and want to make some comments on this mailing list (Yeah, I know you didn't even notice I was gone). Howelllll, Yu-Lung is lovely! I wish I could meet the little creature and be kind to him. No one else seems to care about the dear. They're always smacking him on the arse when he's in horse-form to make him change. Also, he never receives a thank you for his services. In that episode you mentioned, didn't you notice how he tried to save all the little snails and things that tripitaka coughed up? That was very sweet. This is for everyone: I'm writing a modern Australian version of Monkey. It's called 'Journey to the East Coast'. All the characters are in there as young Australians (Yu-Lung does appear in one bit but only at the end). It's funny in parts and is shaping up to be quite a long story. Tell me if you are interested in hearing it and I might send you a copy (if you pay for the postage!). Howell's got a copy and so does Wen-Yew Lee (who is also subscribed to the mailing list). Hey!
