Hey Baz, i know exactly what ya mean. I follow Islam myself, and i also used to watch monkey as a child, it didnt turn me towards buddism, that notion is laughable. Instead, i had great fun watching it and was always funny, monkey used to leave me in stitches by the end of the show:) Youre right about the fact that no ones complaining about sex and violence on TV today, i cant see why they find religion so offensive. Anyhow...id just wish people would get their facts straight, but the world isnt going to change overnight. _.;*>>jannet<<*;._ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - --------------------------------------------------------------- + To unsubscribe, send an email to: majordomo@valinor.eldar.org with 'unsubscribe monkey' in the body of your message + Need help? Yes, I think nunchuks merit an automatic '15'. >Probably a mixture of PG and 15 ratings. What do other people think? Most of _The Water Margin_ tapes were 12, IIRC. I imagine _Monkey_ will end up the same: as you say, the easily imitable fighting might make a 'PG' unlikely. - --------------------------------------------------------------- + To unsubscribe, send an email to: majordomo@valinor.eldar.org with 'unsubscribe monkey' in the body of your message + Need help? [snip] I should say from the outset that I'm a Christian - hopefully not the of the lunatic variety, though others will have to judge that - but I used to be an atheist. I've always loved _Monkey_, though, and I certainly don't stop my kids watching it. That doesn't mean that I entirely 'agree' with the ethos of the show - or that I believe that Buddhism and Christianity are essentially the same, if you boil them down - but I do recognise that the programme is very spiritual and thought-provoking. I have always felt it far better to discuss these things than have some sort of bigoted ban and, certainly, I wish there was more programming of this sort on our screens. Frankly, I get more annoyed by those shows that seem to exist in some sort of moral vacuum than by anything I've seen on _Monkey_ (or in the original stories). And, yes, Moby is cool, isn't he?
