Howell - --- I was recently in China when I came across a couple of things that brought back some fond memories. While in a department store in Jinan I came across a couple of the 12" action figures, unfortunately one was of Triptitaka, the other some yellow demon, none of the others were to be found. They probably weren't based on the series as the Monkey King character is huge here, (being Chinese mythology and all) they even have Monkey King Ice Cream. Another cool thing is they still have the monkey arcade game (I think it's called Journey to the West)which is still very popular (this one and the Three Kingdoms arcade game) I don't know if you've seen it or not but it is basically a Golden Axe clone (much like the Three Kingdoms), where you can have up to four players, operating the four characters Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka. You generally just go around bashing demons until you come up to the end level boss, nothing ground breaking but it's a damn good game with excellent graphics. I think Capcom produced it. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Jan 1999 19:27:58 -0800 (PST) From: VTR1A@webtv.net (Kei) Subject: [monkey] Does anyone know abou Monty? Hi :) This post is not about Monty Python. This post is about a Chinese animated TV show, called "Monty" The animation was so-so. There is a monkey with a gold band around his head, but from what I saw, it was a pale imitation. Monty indeed causes trouble, but he also helps geeky kids too ^_^;; Am I the only one who knows about this program? Plz let me know.
