This series is the best and most thought provoking science fiction series I have seen. It was made in 1980-81 by ITC and starred David McCallum and Joanna Lumley. David Collings also co-starred with them in two of their 'adventures'. I don't know if this series has ever aired in Australia. I discovered it in a catalogue last year and ordered it from England. It is an extremely strange and mysterious series where nothing is really ever explained. McCallum and Lumley are two elementals called Sapphire and Steel whose job is to repair rifts in time. They are joined by another elemental Silver (David Collings). He is very good in this series.
