Hello... While searching for "Monkey Magic" (something I seem to do a lot), I found this file: http://barnsleyweb.barnsley.ac.uk/users/markt/monkeymagic.wav It's just 98K in size. I don't have to facility to play sounds, so can somebody out there download this file, and let me know what it sounds like? I.e. Is it the full theme music? What's the quality like? Thanks, Howell ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jul 1997 03:38:24 PDT From: "Howell Parry" Subject: [monkey] Mmmooooonnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkeyyyyyyyyyyyyy Check out this small Monkey tribute: http://www.rdg.ac.uk/~spuburkb/monkey.html Howell ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 1997 10:16:07 +1000 From: "Clare O'Farrell" Subject: Re: [monkey] Have you ever made a magic wishing staff? Monkey does a bit of unarmed combat notably before he gets his staff, against the 'good dog' and in the land of nightmares when he can't find his staff. It certainly is mainly weapons however! I'm sure at least one of them had a chain. Do you remember what the weapons were (episode = 'Beginning of Wisdom') > Yes, one can look forward to three hours practice a day for 30 years in > order to get anywhere!!! So far, I just practice form and try and do some stretching. > Where do bananas orignally come from - does anyone know? http://wwwchem.uwimona.edu.jm:1104/lectures/banana.html For those who can't access this, I'll list a few pertinent points. Authorities believe that bananas originated in the hot, tropical regions of southern Asia and that the banana was one of the first foods that man cultivated. For this to be successful, a tropical climate where the temperature stays between 10C and 40C is required which roughly translates to latitudes between 30S and 30N. * Alexander the Great and his troops are believed to have found bananas growing in the Valley of the Indus river as early as 326 B.C., during their abortive march through India trying to reach the Ocean. * The first reference to bananas in the Chinese literature comes from Yang Fu, an official at the end of the Later Han Dynasty around the 2nd century A.D. He used the names pa-chiao and kan-chiao. * The term "banana" is believed to be of African origin being given to the fruit by a tribe in the African Congo. Does this help? :) It certainly seems likely bananas would have been well known in Monkey's time.
