For Windows 95, CCS64 seems pretty good - you'll find it here: http://www.fatal-design.com/ccs64/ It relies on DOS, so therefore will not work with NT. An emulator which runs on both Windows 95 and NT is Personal C64 - you'll find it here: http://www.funet.fi/pub/cbm/emulation/pc64/ No, you don't need a joystick - the keys you use depends on the emulator - - you should find some settings in the emulator where you can set up the keys which will behave as the joystick. Let me know if you cannot get any of these to work for you, Howell ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jul 1997 19:56:44 +0100 From: Warren Pilkington Subject: [monkey] Commodore 64 emulator for Win95 to play Monkey Magic on. Having seen around 11 emulators for the C64 in the last two months, the best one in my opinion would be CCS64 V1.06 emulator as it's closest to a real C64, lets you load multiload disk images, and you can use a joystick or keyboard to emulate the joystick port. If you want to download it yourself then throw your browser in the direction of: http://www.fatal-design.com/ccs64/ It's around 400K in a .ZIP file and is really easy to use. Once you download it I recommend thoroughly that you set the screen mode permanently to 384x282 planar (closest to real C64 on TV). If you need to know how to do it send a message to me or the digest and I'll reply. The cheat pokes on the page work brilliantly with this emulator (when I made the pokes I tested it first on this) so you can have endless hours of fun! It's from episode 12 in season 2 'The land of nightmares'. The demons give a huge party in Monkey's honour as he is so good at magic and he says this just at the beginning of the party. He does his usual thing of only taking one bite of fruit before tossing it away. It's the only time I've seen him attack a banana however!! I should mention that it is possible for people to start weapons straight away (some have started nunchuks and others have started word) but in my case I have only done hand-to-hand techniques. I've found these are awesome enough on their own - especially when demonstrated by a sifu wearing a blind-fold. I don't seem to recall Monkey, or any of the others, doing much unarmed combat. He nearly always has his staff. > I know the feeling only too well - not to mention never being able > to work out where to put one's hands and feet and always feeling > like a complete idiot!!! It's good to see they keep Monkey's character consistent :) Certainly parts of China must have the right climate for growing bananas.
