Just wondering... > > > -Monkey God- > >http://www.aimnet.com/~monkey Hello there, The main purpose of this list is to discuss the Japanese TV show "Monkey" which was made in the late 1970s. Fans can use it to share their memories, ask questions, send fan fiction based on the show, send episode summaries, and basically discuss any aspect of the show, e.g. the martial arts, soundtrack, actors, dubbing, casting, plot, comedy, bloopers (continuity errors), costumes, quotes, special effects, magazine articles about the show, merchandise, web pages based on the show, sound samples from the show, video samples from the show, computer games based on the show, where it's currently showing, favourite characters, favourite episodes, when / if it's going to be available on video... In addition to this, other related things could be discussed - e.g. the stories (Hsi Yu Chi) on which the series was based, remakes of the TV series, films based on the same stories, other shows based on these stories (Dragonball etc.). If you can think of anything else that's somehow related to Monkey, go ahead and discuss it! I think that one of the problems is that most people on this list haven't actually seen Monkey for many, many years, so their memories of it are somewhat faded. In that case, feel free to send questions to the list, and those people who have seen Monkey recently should be able to help you out & jog your memory. Go ahead and start and discussion! A friend of mine has just acquired the Commodore 64 game "Monkey Magic" (which is based on "Monkey") as a disk image file (.D64) for use with a Commodore 64 emulator (for PC, Mac etc.) So, sometime in the next few days, it will be available for download from my web site. I can't wait to see it! I remember when I was a lad in the early eighties. I'd come home from school, and Monkey would be on BBC2 at 6.00. Those were the days. Great program. Hope it does come out on video in the UK (any more news), cause I'll buy it! I've only seen the first episode (from the martial arts weekend the other week) since I was at school. Some funny bits, like Monkey weeing on buddha. ha ha ha. Also, loved it where Pigsy tried to hide and pretended to be part of the signpost :) Time to go. Please release it on video!!!!!
