I'd rather just keep it >that way. Actually I for one agree with you wholeheartedly - I always shudder when I hear that a new version of a series or a new film of a series is going to be made. The only recent remake of this kind that I thought was any good was 'The Fugitive', but generally the magic of a series cannot be recaptured because times have changed since it was originally made. In my view it is better just to make a new series about something else!! Perhaps Monkey might be slightly different if it is a question of different versions of *the book*, but a remake of Monkey the 1980 series would not be the go!
