Well, L Jones has written a little EXE program for this purpose. At the moment, it contains questions about computers, but it's very easy to modify it so that it's got Monkey questions. I've uploaded the zip file (QA.zip) which contains everything you need to run this program to my web site; you may download it from here: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/QA.zip It's only 37K in size, so won't take long at all to download. Here's the info about this file: - ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a program which does multiple choice questions (written by me). It's extremely primitive and probably contains bugs - it is only meant as a "try out". To install it: 1. make a subdirectory on your hard drive e.g. (assuming you're in the root, C:\) MKDIR QUE 2. Use PKUNZIP to unzip the files into C:\QUE), i.e.pkunzip files.zip C:\QUE 3. Run the .exe file! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- Please comment on what you think of the program, and also suggest lots of multiple-choice questions that could be used in a Monkey version of the quiz. Please direct your comments and questions suggestions to L Jones - ljones@lineone.net Howell _______________________________________________________ Get Private Web-Based Email Free http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 03 Jul 1997 12:01:54 +0100 From: L.Stevens@cableinet.co.uk Subject: Re: [monkey] History SAhn19@aol.com wrote: > > Hi: > > I just signed onto this list and was amazed that people still watch this > show! Reminds me of a well know French sociologist renowned for his jargon and page long sentences. Asked in an interview why he does it - he replied that he was afraid that people might misinterpret what he said (!) so felt he needed to qualify every remark that he made. The end result is of course that nobody can understand a thing he says! > >I agree entirely. Monkey opposes society completely which is why >he's so great. I've always thought >dogs had the right idea. Same with Monkey. The only problem with this is that dogs are pack animals and the ultimate social conformists! (You can tell I don't like dogs (irritating slobbery things who howl all night eh what!)) I think what is interesting about Monkey is his struggle to control his own natural tendencies and to make something positive out of them. aaaoooooooooooo (impression of dog howling at 2am when I'm trying to sleep) Clare *********************************************************** Clare O'Farrell email:c.ofarrell@qut.edu.au web page: http://www.qut.edu.au/edu/cpol/foucault/ 'Let battle commence.
