(I don't have any, yet, I am just curious) Howell's the person to answer that. So Howell, what do you reckon? What sort of fan-fiction could be written based on this series? I think it'd be fun just to write short stories related to the series or short scripts, like many British comedy enthusiasts do. Of course, it would be pretty tongue in cheek (afterall, the real Monkey often was :)) People could just make up short narratives or dialogues based on the basic Monkey plot (ie: encountering and overcoming evil during the pilgrimage) I think it would be fun if people wrote their own endings to the series too (eg: do they get the scriptures?) because, as has been discussed on the list, the final episode of Money was inconclusive, Nick. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 1997 22:06:23 +0000 From: "Semprini" Subject: [monkey] Not really much to do with Monkey. I see. I'm not sure I entirely agree, though. I think that's quite a good attitude to have, to some degree. We don't want to end up like in George Orwell's 1984. Surely what you are saying is that the struggle for independence is, in some way, evil...? Or am I, just for this one, short, only, small, tiny, moment completely way off track? John .oOo. Sounds pretty right to me. The Cantonese one, pronounced "Sai Yau Kei", then the Mandarin one which people already know... I'd say it is right. The other day my friend told me that the Japanese had made a new version of monkey only one or two years back. This one also has a female Tripitaka, who is supposed to be a sex idol in Japan. Anyway, they were showing it in HK, on ATV when TVB were showing their version of the Journey to the West. bye. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jun 1997 11:47:08 +1100 From: aholland@tuu.utas.edu.au (Aaron) Subject: [monkey] Re: Monkey Digest V1 #43 >I thought somebody might raise this objection - I am racking my brains how >to get around it!
