Let's hope it is good. There was a complete Monkey TV show made and aired in late 80's in China. A TV series of Water Margin was also aired in china at about the same time - --------------------------------------------------------- Get Your *Web-Based* Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - --------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Jun 1997 07:42:42 PDT From: "Howell Parry" Subject: [monkey] Boy George as Tripitaka in TV ad!?!?! The TV commercial featured Boy George as the Buddhist monk. He is accompanied by the monkey king, a Kappa (sea creature), and a pig. IT was a commercial for some alcoholic beverage. I (am and) was a big fan of Boy George, so I managed to get a poster of the commercial. It is really beautiful. The styling of the costumes and makeup is fantastic. Once whle taking a ferry from Honshu, to Takamastu, I saw the TV show you are describing on the Ferry's TV set. Interesting. - --------------------------------------------------------- Get Your *Web-Based* Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - --------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Jun 1997 01:09:43 +0100 From: "l jones" Subject: Re: [monkey] Monkey Memories UPDATED! Hmm... a Java script or ActiveX thing would probably be the best way to do it, I would have thought. I suppose it would be possible in Perl though. I'm supposed to be learning ActiveX sometime eventually. If I ever get the hang of it I'll let you know. Certainly if someone else wants to write one in Perl I could probably get it up and running. , go there..) From: ljones@lineone.net How's about just doing a simple binary (.exe) file? It would be quite easy just to read data, produce a random question and give an answer. If anyone can give me details, I'll write the program! (for the PC, .exe program)! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Jun 1997 02:45:36 +0000 From: bhviisma Subject: Re: [monkey] Need to promote Monkey web sites to Japan... Pigsys' Passion. First let me say my memories of monkey are about four years old as i have been living in a remote cnr of australia. with only two TV stations. I am really envious of people who can still watch it. one episode I would love to hear narrated by any enthusiests is the one where pigsy volunteers to guard a harum. I can remember how passionately pigsy fought when he realized the price of wallowing in all that mud. I think even monkey would have had trouble defeating him fired up in this way Thanks for all the far out leads to websites ------------------------------ End of Monkey Digest V1 #38 *************************** ----------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the Monkey Mailing List digest list, send mail to: majordomo@valinor.eldar.org with the following command in the body of your email message: unsubscribe monkey-digest To send a message to the list, send mail to: monkey-digest@valinor.eldar.org If you have any problems or questions, send mail to: owner-monkey@valinor.eldar.org For lots more information and news about "Monkey", check out the Monkey! web site: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/
