I for one am willing to double tape some eps.If we all put in alittle bit,we will all be able to enjoy "the greatest show ever made". First we need someone to arrange "jobs". any takers. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 May 1997 17:45:38 +0000 From: "Semprini" Subject: Re: [monkey] Episode Guide > Somebody complained about Monkey being shown every night of the week on > satellite tv. *Not a problem* as far as I'm concerned!! Once a week would > be too frustrating! Now that the episodes have all finished showing on > Arena here in Australia - I am simply watching them through again! Ah, surely not? If they show it every night it'll all be used up before you really know it's begun. Bravo did that when they showed the whole lot incredibly rapidly recently. Besides, I like to have something to look forward to in a week. Once a day interferes too much. Much as I like Monkey, I would like to think my life contains just a little something else as well..!! Monkey is on top form throughout, constantly taking the piss out of Pigsy. I think the best moment is when Monkey tricks Pigsy into performing his "little dance" (There's a picture of that old bloke here: http://freeweb.redcat.org.uk/~semprini/sorceror.htm (No connection to me, of course... ahem..) But that was his name when he was in human form, when he was in horse shape he was just referred to as "that horse", "that lazy horse" etc. or "the dragon-horse". Yu-Lung means "dragon" doesn't it? The monkey .AVI file(s) are ready! The good news is I've captured both the whole intro sequence and the bit at the start (seperate file) where the egg hatches. The bad news is they come it at +50Meg and 16Meg :-(. Still all is not lost, for I Could (if I had some s/w) try other forms of compression (like MPEG for example). PKZIP wasn't much use, only reducing the file to a still (enormous) 12Meg. The first file which was my first attempt (for a while ) was OK but is a bit jerky. The second file is better, 160x120, 20(ish) frames a second, 11Mhz Sound (16 Seconds) and is less jerky. I shall retry the first (longer) .AVI file using the method for the second. If I can (or even if I can't) compress the files hopefully I'll be able to make them avaliable to all on the list, although I'll have to specify a tape streamer (IOmega Tape 250/QIC80) or IOMega ZIP drive. Can you imagine it on disks? (Over 10 Disks - (!)). Also what about capturing still images (I Don't know if you can do this), but if I capture still images would you be intrested? ljones ljones@lineone.net ------------------------------ End of Monkey Digest V1 #19 *************************** ----------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the Monkey Mailing List digest list, send mail to: majordomo@valinor.eldar.org with the following command in the body of your email message: unsubscribe monkey-digest To send a message to the list, send mail to: monkey-digest@valinor.eldar.org If you have any problems or questions, send mail to: owner-monkey@valinor.eldar.org For lots more information and news about "Monkey", check out the Monkey! web site: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/
